Dr. Thomas brings a wealth of experience, having been involved in various capacities such as technical advisor, VP of projects, and in executive leadership roles. Currently, he is engaged with the high-grade underground gold and silver project in Peru, operated by PPX Mining Corp., where he previously served as interim CEO for three years and is now the COO during the construction and commissioning of the new plant.
A professional engineer, Dr. Thomas holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He also completed a diploma in accounting and finance from the U.K. Association of Certified Accountants. With 38 years of experience in the mining sector, he has worked on both base and precious metal projects across several countries, including Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Russia, Venezuela, and Zambia. His expertise spans process development, feasibility studies, mine construction management, and operational oversight.
Recognized as a Qualified Person (QP) under National Instrument 43-101 standards, Dr. Thomas has been granted 100,000 stock options valid for three years from the time of grant.
