Nordea Bank ($NDA) Annual Financial Report Released
Nordea has today published its Annual Report for the financial year 2025, which includes the audited Financial Statements, the Board of Directors’ Report, including the Sustainability Statement, and the Corporate Governance Statement. Additionally, Nordea has released its Remuneration Report for Governing Bodies 2025.
Performance Amid Global Challenges
The year 2025 was characterized by considerable global uncertainty, with high geopolitical tensions and shifting trade policies contributing to an unsettled environment. However, the Nordic countries, home to Nordea for generations, continue to demonstrate strong economies, political stability, and the capacity to adapt to change. Nordea is well-positioned to support its customers and the Nordic region during both prosperous and challenging times, bolstered by its diversified range of financial services and a robust balance sheet.
CEO's Vision for the Future
“Nordea delivered strong results in 2025. Our performance reflects the momentum we have built since we set out to reshape the business in 2019. By many measures, we are stronger now than we have ever been. As we move forward into our new strategy period, our ambition is clear: to be the best-performing financial services group in the Nordics,” commented President and Group CEO Frank Vang-Jensen in his letter to stakeholders.
Investment in Digital Services
A significant driver of Nordea’s success has been its substantial investment in digital services. Enhancements, including expanded functionalities in digital channels, have improved customer experiences. Over the past four years, Nordea’s digitally active customers have increased by more than 25%. Today, Nordea is recognized as the leading provider of digital financial services in the Nordics and among the best in Europe.
Commitment to Sustainability
Between 2022 and 2025, Nordea facilitated EUR 235 billion in sustainable financing, surpassing its target. The bank has also achieved a 44% reduction in financed emissions within its lending portfolio compared to 2019, keeping it on track to meet its 2030 reduction goals. Furthermore, Nordea has successfully reduced carbon emissions from its operations by over 50% since 2019.
Looking Ahead
As Nordea enters its 2026–30 strategy period, it does so from a position of strength and high ambition. The bank's priorities include expanding in attractive areas, driving income growth faster than the market, enhancing its customer offerings, and unlocking the potential of its unique Nordic scale. Technology, data, and AI will play crucial roles in supporting these goals.
