Aftermath Silver Ltd. (TSXV: AAG) is excited to announce the appointment of DRA Global Limited to spearhead the recently initiated Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) for its Berenguela silver-copper-manganese project located in southern Peru.
This appointment represents a crucial step in advancing the Berenguela project towards a future construction decision, following a thorough evaluation process of various international engineering firms. The selection criteria included technical capability, regional experience, metallurgical expertise, project delivery history, and alignment with Aftermath’s developmental strategy.
DRA’s extensive experience in project delivery, both in Peru and internationally, includes participation in major operations such as Quellaveco, Cerro Verde, Las Bambas, and Antamina. This combination of local and global expertise will be instrumental in ensuring efficient study execution, aiding permitting activities, and adhering closely to Peruvian regulatory requirements.
Supporting DRA in this study will be SENET, a member of the DRA Global Group, contributing vital hydrometallurgical expertise to optimize the Company’s processing flowsheet. SENET’s strong capabilities in hydrometallurgical process design aim to enhance recoveries, boost process efficiencies, and improve overall project performance.
Ralph Rushton, President and CEO of Aftermath Silver, stated: "This is an opportune moment to advance a project of Berenguela's significance and quality. The increasing demand for silver, copper, and high-purity manganese, spurred by global electrification and renewable energy initiatives, makes securing key technical partners like DRA essential. This collaboration will position us to meet market demand with a robust and optimized development plan.”
With DRA’s global execution experience and SENET’s hydrometallurgical expertise, Aftermath Silver aims to maximize the value of its processing flowsheet and deliver a high-quality PFS. This is particularly timely as precious metal prices soar and the supply of copper and high-purity manganese sulfate, crucial for electric vehicle batteries, becomes increasingly vital for the energy transition and high-growth industrial applications.
