Greenheart Gold Inc. (TSXV: GHRT) is excited to announce significant developments in its exploration programs at the Igab and Tosso Creek projects located in Suriname. At the Igab site, the company has identified two new gold mineralized trends at the Koela Target: Koela West and Koela East. Additionally, initial trenching results from the Tosso Creek project show promise, covering a limited number of known anomalies in the western area of the site.
The exploration activities at Igab thus far have included two phases of soil sampling, trenching, mapping, and detailed drone magnetics, successfully outlining five target areas. These include the Lemon Tree and Samansu targets in the south, along with Mokro, Koela, and Cannibal Creek in the north. Notably, the Lemon Tree target has revealed a heavily altered granitic rock outcrop with channel samples returning impressive results, such as 31.0 meters grading 1.36 grams per tonne of gold, as detailed in the company’s press release from February 10, 2025.
With drier weather in the latter half of 2025, Greenheart Gold focused on the northern targets at Igab, enhancing exploration efficiency by constructing access roads and a remote camp. Soil sampling at the Koela and Cannibal Creek areas has uncovered anomalous gold values, extending roughly 1,500 meters by 500 meters. Although these anomalies show promise, the area is characterized by a complex regolith profile, necessitating caution as the company continues its investigation.
At Koela, two significant gold mineralized trends have emerged within the broader soil anomaly. The Koela East and Koela West trends are shear zones oriented north-northwest, consisting of quartz veins situated within strained phyllites intermingled with intermediate to mafic volcanics. Results from Koela West have shown a strike length of about 500 meters, with trench samples indicating significant gold grades, including trenches T-066 with 11.0 meters grading 9.48 g/t Au and T-083 with 11.0 meters grading 4.36 g/t Au.
Moving to Koela East, located approximately 350 meters east of Koela West, this trend's gold mineralization is found on the flanks of a weathered shear zone. Trench results from this area include T-078, which intersected 3.0 meters grading 5.58 g/t Au and T-078a with 12.0 meters grading 4.82 g/t Au. Grab samples have also revealed exceptionally high grades, including 90.0 g/t Au. Further trenching on the western side has been delayed by steep terrain, leaving the mineralized zone open for expansion.
Meanwhile, at the Tosso Creek project, Greenheart Gold has completed two phases of soil sampling with 90% of results in. These programs have identified multiple corridors of anomalous gold in soil, extending from 200 meters by 1,000 meters to 400 meters by 2,000 meters within a 6 km by 2 km area. Trenching of the western anomalies commenced in late 2025, with early results from 11 completed trenches showing encouraging signs, such as TOST25-011 intersecting 62.0 meters grading 0.71 g/t Au.
As trenching, mapping, and sampling activities continue, Greenheart Gold is preparing to mobilize a diamond drill rig to both Igab and Tosso Creek in 2026. The drill program aims to test known targets while also exploring additional potential areas, including Cannibal Creek.
