Potomac Bank Joins Forces with Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va., Feb. 25, 2026 — Potomac Bank ($PTBS) is excited to announce a renewed partnership with the Board of Directors of the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival, promising to enhance this beloved community tradition.
Festival board president Mary Beth Blair remarked, "Today marks an unprecedented occasion in the history of the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival as Potomac Bank continues their partnership with the Festival. In 2019, we saw Potomac Bank step up as our first major presenting sponsor, showcasing their commitment to promoting our rich agricultural heritage. Our roots are intertwined, dating back to 1871, and this partnership has been a catalyst for our success!"
Potomac Bank President & CEO Alice Frazier reflected on the bank's history, stating that a group of 38 Jefferson County farmers and business leaders founded the Bank of Charles Town shortly after the Civil War. This legacy has now evolved into Potomac Bank, a name change that signifies their growth and dedication to the communities in the Eastern Panhandle and the Potomac River region.
Frazier noted, "Our renaming reflects our strategic growth over the past 155 years. We remain the same community bank, now with a name that more accurately represents our branch network."
Blair announced the continuation of their partnership, highlighting Potomac Bank's generous support over the past seven years, including providing up to 50 volunteers annually at festival events. "We are thrilled to once again name them the Presenting Sponsor of our four-day festival, extending our collaboration for another three years," she stated.
Frazier expressed pride in the partnership, emphasizing the festival's significance in celebrating local heritage. "The Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival epitomizes community spirit and pride. We invite everyone to join us this October for a memorable experience,” she added.
In addition to honoring Potomac Bank's support, Blair acknowledged other businesses and individuals contributing as Major Event Sponsors. "The festival's continuity relies on their unwavering support, and we eagerly anticipate the celebration of its 47th anniversary this fall," she said.
This year, the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival will take place from October 15-18, featuring events and activities throughout the Eastern Panhandle. This year's theme, "From our orchards to your family - An all-American Celebration," aligns with the nation's 250th birthday and the shared history of the bank and the festival. Preparations are already underway for an exciting festival in 2026, including the selection of the 47th Queen Pomona in April.
Founded in 1871 as the Bank of Charles Town and rebranded as Potomac Bank on November 3, 2025, the bank operates through a nine-branch network and one loan production office, serving the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and beyond. Offering comprehensive financial solutions, Potomac Bank is proud to be a Small Business Administration (SBA) Preferred Lender.
The Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival, celebrated every third weekend in October, showcases the apple industry's integral role in the Eastern Panhandle's heritage. This treasured event has become a signature celebration, bringing together the community with various contests, entertainment, and craft shows.
In attendance for the announcement was Syrah George, Queen Pomona XLVI of Martinsburg, and board members from both Potomac Bank and the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival.
