Burlington, Ontario--Rapid Dose Therapeutics Corp. (CSE: DOSE) (OTCQB: RDTCF), a Canadian biotechnology company specializing in innovative drug delivery solutions, has shared an update regarding its ongoing cannabinoid research initiatives and clinical evaluations of its proprietary QuickStrip™ oral thin film delivery platform.
Independent research, led by Dr. Patrick Neary from the Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies at the University of Regina and Dr. Jane Alcorn from the College of Pharmacy & Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan, is examining the role of naturally produced cannabinoids in pain management and neuroprotection concerning concussions and participation in contact sports. This research program is being supported through grant funding from the National Football League (NFL).
In addition, a separate clinical study arm initiated in Q2 2024 is assessing the bioavailability of cannabidiol (CBD) delivered via RDT's QuickStrip™ oral thin film compared to traditional oral dosage formats. Dr. Alcorn noted, "By measuring how much CBD moves through the body and the duration it remains there after each type of product, we can determine whether the strips deliver CBD more efficiently than the standard oral form."
The study is progressing as planned, with raw data extracted from over 60% of enrolled participants to date. Enrollment of the remaining participants is anticipated to continue into Q2 2026. Concurrently, real-time and accelerated stability studies of the CBD QuickStrip™ investigational product are ongoing.
