ADP National Employment Report: May 2025
ADP, a leading provider of human capital management solutions, has released its National Employment Report indicating that private sector employment increased by just 37,000 jobs in May 2025. This figure falls significantly short of the consensus forecast of 120,000 jobs.
Dr. Nela Richardson, Chief Economist at ADP, remarked, "After a strong start to the year, hiring is losing momentum. Pay growth, however, was little changed in May, holding at robust levels for both job-stayers and job-changers." This suggests that while job growth is slowing, compensation remains strong.
In addition, the upcoming Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report, expected to be released on Friday, anticipates an addition of 130,000 non-farm payroll jobs for the month of May.
