Scorpio Gold Corp. (TSXV: SGN) (OTCQB: SRCRF) (FSE: RY9) has announced significant findings from three step-out drill holes—26MN-046, 26MN-047, and 26MN-048—during the Phase Two drill program at the Manhattan District Project in Nevada, USA.
So far, Scorpio Gold has completed 47 drill holes in the Phase Two diamond drilling program, totaling 15,280 meters. The results released today encompass assays from 38 of these holes, amounting to 11,907 meters, with pending results from an additional nine holes.
Harrison Pokrandt, VP of Exploration at Scorpio Gold, emphasized the importance of hole 26MN-048, noting it confirms robust gold mineralization along the caldera margin beyond the current Inferred Resource Constraining Pit. The hole revealed a 28.35-meter interval grading 1.25 g/t gold, demonstrating vertical continuity within the Zanzibar Formation.
CEO Zayn Kalyan commented on the disciplined approach of the company as they continue to advance the Manhattan project, aiming for steady, high-quality results and consistent updates for shareholders.
The three drill holes were strategically placed to explore areas beyond the Inferred Resource Constraining Pit. Hole 26MN-048 tested the faulted contact zone between caldera volcanics and sedimentary units, while holes 26MN-046 and 26MN-047 targeted extensions of mineralization along the Reliance Trend and east of the historic East Pit, respectively.
In total, hole 26MN-048 yielded four intervals with notable grades, including 0.77 g/t gold over 7.53 meters and a significant 1.25 g/t gold over 28.35 meters. This data is integral to understanding mineralization at the site and will aid in future resource estimates.
Manhattan is situated in the Walker Lane Trend and is conveniently accessible by road, located about 20 kilometers south of the Round Mountain Gold Mine. The project has a rich history, having produced approximately 700,000 ounces of gold from high-grade operations dating back to the late 1890s.
Scorpio Gold holds a 100% interest in the Manhattan District, which spans about 4,780 hectares and includes the Goldwedge Mine with a maximum capacity of 400 tons per day. This expansive area presents a promising exploration opportunity.
